Kennedy cites Gidley

A passing mention of SG's famous victory from LibDem leader Charles Kennedy in today's Times.

'Our position is stronger than it has been at any time'
"I have just had my 21st birthday as an MP and I cast my mind back to 1983. The SDP-Liberal Alliance was terribly good at coming second just about everywhere. The only problem was that we did not come first often enough. Now it is completely different. We can take the Conservatives on in the Romsey by-election and win. But in parliamentary seats and whole cities like Newcastle we can take on the Labour establishment and win. That is completely different to what was happening 20 years ago."
