Lazy journalism?

The Telegraph's Football Diary appears to lift an anecdote from SG's blog.

"James who?" asks blushing MP
Sandra Gidley, Liberal Democrat MP for Romsey, in Hampshire, was joined at her table during a Prince's Trust function at Southampton's St Mary's Stadium by one of her constituents.

"I felt rather daft when this young man plonked himself down next to me after shaking hands with everyone else at the table, and I asked who he was," she says. "I thought he looked vaguely familiar, but I'm not into football. He very modestly pointed out his name in the programme. It was then I realised I was sitting next to a local legend: James Beattie. Clang."
At least Sandra knew who he was once she knew his name. I'm still none the wiser...
